YOU MAY WONDER…
Dear Mikey & Vanessa,
You may wonder what is the point of this whole experience of life? Earth is a school. You chose to come here to learn and grow, just like everything around you. We are alive to express our uniqueness authentically, learn, grow and evolve. You are divinity experiencing itself through new eyes. Like every other seeded living being on this planet, your goal is to evolve and unfold according to your divine pattern. You’ve come to play, have experiences that helps you explore parts of yourself, and how to embody the love of God.
You may wonder why negative/bad things happen. The answer is we create our reality. Individually, we create our inner atmosphere through our thoughts, emotions, and core beliefs. As a family, we co-create a lifetime bond. As we exist in environments with others (such as school, city, state, nation). Everyone is making choices that create certain realities. The earth is abundant to provide for the needs of every living being on this planet. People, through their choices (of oppressive systems, rules, race, patriarchy, etc.) have created the reality of scarcity, greed, brutality, and fear many experience as normal. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. This is called Newton’s law, and is spiritually referred to as the law of correspondence. All it really means is that what goes around, comes around. You get from the world what you give. I’m not saying that people invite bad things to happen in their lives. What I am saying is that your actions affect others and that plays out on a very large scale in society. We have been programmed with an inverted reality of what is normal, but it is our duty to intentionally create a new normal. Capitalism prioritizing profits over human lives is not normal. Greedily hoarding resources so people starve while others have more money than they could spend in 1000 lifetimes (even if they could take their money with them) is not normal.
When other people’s choices cause us pain, what should that mean and how should we respond? The book No Mud, No Lotus by Thich Nhat Hahn gave me a perspective that I want to share with you. The takeaway is that lotus flowers cannot grow unless they have a lot of mud. Without the darkness of the mud, you can’t produce the beauty of a flower. That means you have to take the good with the bad. Everyone and thing you encounter helps you understand your consciousness a little better. No Mud No Lotus also teaches that there is a difference between pain and suffering. Pain in the initial reaction to the stimulus. For example, you feel pain when you burn your hand or get sick. Suffering is the story your mind creates about the pain that extends or intensifies the experience beyond the actual sensation of pain. For example, pain may be caused by the end of a relationship. However, suffering can get out of hand when you start telling yourself stories about how they dumped you because you aren’t lovable, good enough, smart enough, etc.
While pain is often not a choice, suffering always is. Always. That is not to say you should/will never suffer. However, you now know that you have the responsibility to determine how long suffering must stay. Responsibility is the ability to respond. Many things are not in your control, but you can ALWAYS choose how you respond. You choose your reality. You can choose to release what does not support your growth. It is your responsibility as a sovereign & empowered being to cultivate your inner atmosphere. Never give that power away to anyone. Accepting the full spectrum of your experiences is easier when you learn that everything you encounter comes to serve you in some way. Even the painful ones. Sometimes the people we thought hurt or failed us the most are our most noble and impactful teachers. Understand that like you, they are in this earth school playing their role. You’ll learn this with experience but I want you to have this cheat code now. It eases so much suffering.
Being strong in knowing the spirit of God within you helps you discern what is real and true. It is your birthright to live a life of divine ease and flow. Be free. Free yourself from shame, blame, doubt, or fear. Take responsibility for the energy you radiate and choose, everyday, to be yourself. Your authenticity frees you from feeling like you have to fit in or conform to what people tell you. It helps you create new realities and new possibilities based on your knowing of your truth and intuition. Walking in your power changes things outside of you as much as it transforms your life.
All my love,
Titilayo
